God Bless Ms. Van Acker, in her favorite blue,
and our friend Gail. MEVA (Mary Ellen
Van Acker) as we called her, touched so many
individuals and was one of the finest
people I have every met. A top-notch teacher,
and my friend, MEVA once told me when I was
a first year principal, "It is not about winning,
but finding a way for everyone to feel valued."
It has always stayed with me and so will her
spirit. Even as she prepared to leave us, she
taught us with her strength and grace.
We love you MEVA!

I am also grateful for the guidance that she gave when I started teaching at Norwood. She was a wonderful teacher to all, and she has left her mark on this world and on me.
